Our Research Paid Off In Yellowstone National Park!

Not many people visit Yellowstone National Park to see birds, but that is what we did. My wife and I spent a week in the Black Hills of South Dakota biking, hiking, birding, and being tourists. We were there to ride the Mickelson Trail, a 109-mile rail-to-trail bike path, over 3 days, on an organized group ride. But we spent extra days before and after the ride to experience the Black Hills, seeing bison, wind caves, and more of God’s creation.
On our way back to Idaho, we decided to drive through Yellowstone National Park, and we did it for one reason, to see a Harlequin duck. These ducks are only found in specific places, and one of them was the LeHardy Rapids on the Yellowstone River. By researching where to find these ducks through the ebird.org website, I realized that perhaps, just perhaps, we could see a Harlequin duck in Yellowstone National Park. We drove to the spot, parked our car, and headed towards the river.
My wife captured it in a Facebook post this way: “It was such an adrenaline rush to walk down the path and see not one but at least a dozen harlequins swimming, diving, and fishing in the Yellowstone River. We were ecstatic!”
Our research paid off!
Research plays an important role in many areas of life beyond birding, including investing. Proverbs 18:15 tells us, “An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.” For investors who are concerned about reflecting their morals in their investments, seeking to honor the Lord even in their investments, an answer is found in Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI). At Christian Wealth Management, we specialize in BRI, and we’ve done the research!
Reach out to us if you want to learn more about BRI. Plus, I have pictures we took of the Harlequinducks, which I’m sure you will want to see!
