2024 Looks Promising (Like a Christmas Movie)!

Like many of you, my family and I enjoy watching Christmas movies during the holidays, since characters often end up living happily ever after.   “It’s a Wonderful Life” is perhaps the epitome of feel-good Christmas movies.   The movie ends with a very discouraged George Bailey finding great encouragement.  Despite the overwhelming circumstances of life, he realizes that he has a wonderful life which provides hope for the future.  No matter how many times I watch it, the ending still makes me feel good.

Many of us may have felt discouraged like George Bailey during the last two years as we saw our investments perform poorly.  Perhaps we envisioned a future without hope, wondering if our investments would recover.  However, Scripture encourages us to never give up hope:  "There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off” (Proverbs 23:18).

Hope may have arrived for us with a promising outlook for the market in 2024!  Factors suggest that 2024 will be good for our investments.   Inflation and interest rates have been dropping and the market has responded positively.  And just like a movie with a happy ending, the expectation is that 2024 will be an encouraging year for investing.
