What’s That Sound?

Ever since I could remember, my dad had a guitar lying around our house.  Although I eventually chose an instrument less conducive to the peace and quiet of a home (the drums), I admired the guitars ability to create an atmosphere for people to join together in song.

Something wonderful happens when we sing together.  Music is powerful.  Money is also powerful.  Something wonderful happens when we come together with our finances especially when our motives are to glorify our Creator.

As Christian wealth managers, this is our aim.  We want our investments to make a glorious sound.

How do we do this?

Investing in Companies for Good Works.  Whether their focus is Healthcare & Life Sciences, Home Improvement, eBusiness, or the like, we want to own businesses that are part of solving some of life’s toughest challenges while taking good care of their employees and the environment.  Businesses have the ability to make meaningful impact in the lives of others.

Empowering Christian Voices for Influence.  This might come as a surprise, but like people, no individual company is perfect.  By using faith-based mutual funds, like Timothy Plan, Eventide, Inspire, and others, we are able to be partner with other like minded Christians throughout the world and advocate for biblical values on a mass level.  One way this is accomplished is through proxy voting.

Restoring Communities for Wholeness.   Money is a tool.  We can use it to spend, save, and give.  Although we should strive for balance, research shows over and over that giving has a profound effect on our overall well-being.  The faith-based mutual fund families we partner with have caught on to this.  One example is Inspire Investing’s Give 50 campaign.  As of 12/31/2022, Inspire has donated $212,372 to different projects throughout the world, including a village with a population of 720 in the remote coffee mountains of Guatemala.  Because of investors partnership with Inspire, Colonia Tawayni has clean water, a church, and their classrooms and medical facilities roofs no longer leak water when it rains.

Beautiful things happen when we come together to glorify Jesus through our worship.  God loves our songs.  Yet, worship was never limited to our voices and the musical instruments we put in the four walls of a church.

But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.
