Investing From Heaven

As I write this, I am seated in my office chair letting my fingers do the walking on my laptop keyboard.  I have been sitting here much of the day, engaged in various aspects of helping people plan for their future financially.  There are many other seats I could use, but this chair is a good fit for office work.  However, of all the other seats I could use, there is one that is a prize possession.  

As Christians, Ephesians 2:6 informs us that Christ has “seated us with him in the heavenly places.”  Practically, it is hard for me to grasp how I can be there and be here.  Theologically, however, I understand there is a place assured for me in heaven, and, in some sense, I am already there.  

The fact that I am seated in heavenly places next to Christ is an eye-opener from an investment perspective.  This is strong incentive for me to make the right investment decisions with the Lord sitting at my side.  We all want to hear words of affirmation from our Lord!

Of course, I could turn to the Lord and get his input.  But, in many ways, he has already given us investment direction.  1 Corinthians 10:31 reads, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”  Realizing that “whatever” includes investing, Christ wants us to invest to bring glory to Him!  

Investing for the glory of God means we will care about the impact our money is making.  That should include avoiding investing in certain companies and purposely investing in others.  That is what we are all about at Christian Wealth Management: helping you find the right earthly investments to match your heavenly values.  In other words, helping you invest from heaven for the glory of God!
