His giggles have the power to shake off the weight of the world.

I love my nephew, Lincoln.  He’s the cutest, grandpa-looking one year old on this earth.  Being around him, simplifies life.  I tickle his belly; he laughs.  In fact, his giggling is powerful.  While his unalloyed chuckles strips my burdens off, his pink cheeks captivate my heart and mind.  Being an uncle is pretty neat.

While being an uncle has its benefits, being a financial advisor also has its moments.  I think my favorite part is our routine visits with the families we serve.  We connect over what’s going on in life and what is being hoped for in the future.  Often times, life beat us up a little, causing us to lose perspective and struggle to find hope in the right place.  Life is hard, and yet, doing life in community can ease its burden.

Life has certainly taken its shots at me, leaving a few scars.  It’s not uncommon for me to find myself restless and heavy laden.  But, I remember the words of one person who changed my life forever. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30).”

Our job as Christian Financial Advisors, often includes many things.  But, at the end of the day, it’s to point us back to Jesus.  It’s His yoke that’s easy, and His burden that’s light.  

This blog is a simple call for those who want or need encouragement to reach out to your advisor.  While I can’t promise we can have the same impact Lincoln has on me, I know we would love to offer any wisdom the Lord has revealed to us, pray with you, and a give you smile.
